Dahiana W. Paredes
President/CEO
“Architecture, engineering, construction” and "safety" are equally apt descriptions of Dahiana Paredes, Founder and Owner of W. Paredes Consulting. In a field dominated by men, Dahiana does not meet the typical profile of a contractor, and ‘typical’ is a word rarely used to describe Dahiana.
Raised and educated in New York City, Dahiana excelled equally in architecture, and computer science—a skill set she transformed into a successful career, following her studies at Technical Career Institutions, New York City College of Technology, and New York Institute of Technology.
Dahiana’s passion for construction was ignited by an architect friend who recognized her design and problem-solving capabilities as being well-suited for the demands of construction and safety. From her first day on the jobsite, Dahiana fell in love with the dynamic building process and never looked back. In 2018, she launched W. Paredes Consulting, as the logical next step in her career progression. Inspired vision, irresistible attention to detail, a mind for innovation, and a clear communication style, are qualities she believes she strengthened as a woman but also as a safety professional. “Mathematics—symmetry, geometry—plays a very important role in building structures safely,” says Paredes. “Safety is much the same with these principles contributing to rhythm and soul of the built environment”
Dahiana is especially driven by the collaborative process with clients. She credits her well-organized environments, attentive customer service and relatable nature as a key factor in her success. “Everything I am goes into everything I do,” says Dahiana, and W. Paredes Consulting is built on that philosophy.
